An interview with diversity officer Aya Ezawa at NPO radio 1

As a scientist and diversity officer at Leiden University, Aya Ezawa is involved in the social side of science on a daily basis. Her role is as diversity officer at Leiden University is to translate the University’s ambitions of becoming a diverse and inclusive community into concrete policy measures and actions.

Ezawa: “You cannot impose on someone to be more inclusive. You first have to explain what diversity is, you have to embrace it yourself and also know how to approach it. You have to give people the space to learn that.”
