Joke Bouwstra (LACDR) will receive this year’s van Zwanenberg Ereprijs.
She did fundamental research on the skin and the transport of drugs through the skin. This is the first time the prize will go to a woman after 59 years.
For Bouwstra this situation is not new, she was awarded the Simon Stevin Meester Ereprijs (2005) and the Kydonieus Foundation Award (2019) as the first woman.
