The aim of the Westerdijk Talent Scheme programme is to increase the number of women professors and therefore the contribution to a greater diversity at the top of Dutch academia. The programme offers universities the possibility to apply for grants if they appoint female researchers as a professor.
The deadline for applications was February 10 2018 and on March 8, International Women’s Day it will be announced which talented female academics have been appointed the past year. This week it became clear that not all universities, have been successful in identifying RISE-ing female talent. Hopefully the unused budget will be re-allocated amongst the other universities!
